No. Browsing items, monsters, the world map, and farming spot pages is completely open. You only need to sign in the moment you want to save a favorite, comment, or contribute something.
One click, with your Discord or Google account. There's no separate Potum password to create or remember.
No. Potum is an unofficial, player-run fan project. Item icons, monster art, and map imagery belong to Asobimo, Inc. and are used with attribution — see the footer of every page.
Contributing
Head to Suggest a spot, or use the report form on any farming spot's page. Tell us the map, the monster, how long you farmed, what you counted (kills and/or material yields), your party size, and — if you've got it — a route note or video. Solo numbers are automatically scaled for party play, so you don't need to do that math yourself.
Yes, fully. Every item and monster page has a "Suggest an edit" option. It goes through the exact same review queue as a farming report, and every approved edit counts toward your contributor track record exactly the way an approved farming report does. Fixing a wrong stat is just as real a contribution as reporting a brand-new spot.
Every farming spot's rate on Potum is a median of real, measured sessions — not a guess. The review queue is what keeps that trustworthy: it's the only thing standing between "someone typed a number" and "a moderator read it and believed it." Once you've built a strong track record as a Trusted Contributor, your submissions start publishing instantly — see the roles question below.
Not necessarily — a moderator can leave a short note explaining why. A single rejection doesn't count against you; it only becomes a factor if it turns into a pattern.
One or two reports aren't enough to call a median trustworthy yet — so the page says so honestly, rather than showing a confident-looking number backed by almost nothing. It's the same reason we'd rather show a real "early data" spot than fake a polished average.
Getting credited
Depends what you contributed, and we'd rather be upfront about it than oversell it:
- Farming spot reports — yes. Your username is shown publicly on the spot's page the moment it's approved, right next to the numbers you reported.
- Comments — yes, always, on every comment you post.
- Item/monster data edits — not on the page itself (a corrected stat just becomes the page's new data, with no public "edited by" byline). It still counts fully toward your Approved total, which is what moves you up the trust ladder.
Everyone starts as a Member. Build a track record of approved contributions and you move up to Contributor, then Trusted Contributor — at which point your reports and minor edits publish instantly, no review wait. Above that are Moderator and Admin, which are invited rather than earned automatically (see below). The ladder runs both ways — a falling approval rate or abuse can move you back down a level.
Favorites & comments
Items and monsters, one click each, from their page. Your saved list is reachable from the top nav any time you're signed in. Maps and farming spots aren't favoritable yet.
Items, monsters, maps, and farming spots all have comment threads, with threaded replies so a real conversation can happen instead of a flat wall of text.
Every image is automatically screened before anyone else can see it. Only YouTube links are allowed in comment text — no arbitrary link-dropping — and a short cooldown plus a daily cap keep things human-paced. You can report a comment that breaks the rules, and you can edit or delete your own comments any time.
Roles & moderation
None — "staff" isn't a separate role. It's just the word we use for Moderator or Admin together. Anywhere you see "staff-only," it means either of those two.
Review and approve or reject the contribution queue (both edit suggestions and farming reports), moderate comments and reported images, and run the interactive map tools — placing locations and markers on the world map, drawing the roads between them, and grouping a dungeon's sub-areas under one main map entry.
Everything a moderator can, plus granting and revoking roles, and the final call on anything structural or irreversible for the project.
There's no application form — moderators are invited, usually from the Discord community. In practice: be an active, recognizable presence there, build a real track record of approved contributions over a few months, and an admin will reach out directly once that track record speaks for itself. Show up, contribute honestly and often, and be visible — that's the actual path.
Supporting Potum
No — nothing on Potum is ever gated behind a payment, and that's not going to change. Donations are entirely optional and only go toward keeping the project running.
